The Daydream Believer is a daydream that is slowly becoming a reality. Currently, it hosts essays on pop culture, gender, sexuality, politics, race, and the intersection of any or all of these topics. Soon, we will have retro record reviews. In the future, we hope to add content from more creators and artists, perhaps even a podcast.

I recently discovered that people actually enjoy reading what I write when I’m on my bullshit. One day, while [maladaptive] daydreaming, the idea for this site came to me.

Now, here you are.

My name is Cecilia. Welcome to my personal void into which I shout random thoughts too long for social media. I’m a Xennial, leftist mother with an accent that’s more Karl Childers than Truvy Jones. My obsession with movies, books, and music began young, and for better or worse, they taught me more about the world than my parents ever did. The values, morals, and lessons imparted by pop culture have shaped my life. I write these essays to explain why. Hopefully, they’re a beacon to other passionate folks who haven’t yet figured out how to articulate their brain is a constantly running engine of film quotes, song lyrics, and obscure references to literature.

If there’s something you’d like to say to Cecilia, she respectfully asks you to say it to her screen.

Coming soon, we will feature Retro Record Reviews.

These will be written by Whiteboy Richard IV. When Richard decides what you should know about him, we’ll update this section.
