Welcome to my personal void into which I shout random thoughts too long for social media. I’m a Xennial, leftist mother with an accent that’s more Karl Childers than Truvy Jones. My obsession with movies, books, and music began young, and for better or worse, they taught me more about the world than the adults around me ever did. The values, morals, and lessons imparted by pop culture have shaped my life. I write these essays to explain why. Hopefully, they’re a beacon to other passionate folks who haven’t yet figured out how to articulate their thoughts without constantly using film quotes, song lyrics, and references to literature.
